Korean Legends: Seo Jung-Won

Seo Jung-Won DoB: Dec. 17 , 1970 Birthplace: Gwangju, South Korea Position: Foward/Midfield Clubs: apps/goals Korean National 85/16 Anyang LG Cheetahs 66/13 RC Strasbourg 16/4 Suwon Samsung Bluewings 143/36 Red Bull Salzburg 12/2 SV Ried 54/9 … Seo Jung-Won was one of the finest footballer for the Korean side. Started football by his older brother’s influence, Seo made his debut for the Korean youth national in 1987. Nicknamed as “Nalssendori”, meaning speedy, Seo had tremendous pace and ability to score goals from anywhere. Throughout his career Seo was offered contracts from European teams such as Barcelona, Benfica, and Valenica. However, his affiliated team at that time Anyang, did not allow such move. After a short term with RC Strasbourg in 97, Seo made another attempt to play in Europe. He joined SV Ried in 05, despite being in the mid-thirties, Seo surprised everyone by being named the player of the year (Jahreswertung aller Spieler) in the Austrian Bundesliga. Currently Seo has retired from football and is looking forward in coaching career.
